Saturday, 17th October 2009
9:30 am Hunter Trials - Pairs followed by Individuals
  Location: Cross Country Course
  This event is based on the traditional cross-country gallop, it is challenge over a course over 22 cross country obstacles to test the riders and horse ability. It can be run in pairs or trebles.
9:30 am Irish Pony Club Mounted Games  (International)
  Location: Ring B
  In each team there are 5 riders of which 4 compete, there could be up to 20 teams competing in the competition over a preset course and the teams that win most games, win the competition.
10:15 am Carriage Driving
  Location: Ring B
  The carriage driving society of Ireland, will give a demonstration of carriage driving over a preset course in the main arena.

You may ask questions about the sport, and if you feel confident enough to try driving – they will give you a hands on practical demonstration.
11:15 am Irish Pony Club Mounted Games  (National)
  Location: Ring B
  In each team there are 5 riders of which 4 compete, there could be up to 20 teams competing in the competition over a preset course and the teams that win most games, win the competition.
12:00 pm Huntathlon  1st Event
  Location: Ring A
12:45 pm Carriage Driving
  Location: Ring B
  The carriage driving society of Ireland, will give a demonstration of carriage driving over a preset course in the main arena.

You may ask questions about the sport, and if you feel confident enough to try driving – they will give you a hands on practical demonstration.
01:00 pm MCR Team Chase
  Location: Team Chase Course
  The team chase will cross the Course in teams of four, over banks, ditches and fences totalling approximately 30 odd obstacles within 2.5 miles distance. Fastest team wins.

02:30 pm The Husse Family Fun Dog Show
  Location: Ring A

  Location: Ring B
  The carriage driving society of Ireland, will give a demonstration of carriage driving over a preset course in the main arena.

High Gate Jumping will start at 2ft 6.
All competitors must be entered before the competition starts and will continue to jump in numeric order, until the gate is standing.

05:00 pm Horn Blowing Qualifier
  Location: Ring A
 

Three hunt calls must be performed in the competition.

First call is, going away.

First test will be the masters and the hunt staff, second test will be members of the hunt, female and male.

07:00 pm Barn Dance
  Location: Trade Village
  Evening of dancing, traditionally to celebrate the first international hunt festival, organised by the hunting association of Ireland.

There will be music, there will be dancing; there will be new mating calls handed out later in the evening by the “caller”. The dancing is accompanied by any available instruments – often a violin or accordion – and involves a set sequence of movements directed by a ‘caller’ who shouts instructions.
